ReDiscover’s Youth Diversion Program
FOR AT-RISK YOUTH
FOR AT-RISK YOUTH
A large number of youth become involved in the juvenile justice system each year, and a large portion of these cases involve non-violent, minor offenses and are often related to underlying behavioral health issues, socio-emotional issues, or stress/trauma. Court involvement can have a lasting negative impact on the juvenile’s life, including expulsions from school, exclusion from academic or extra-curricular programs, barriers to employment, and difficulty gaining admittance to college or training programs. Because of these factors, juvenile court involvement has been linked to high recidivism rates and future adult involvement with the criminal justice system. ReDiscover’s Youth Diversion Program offers an alternative path and works to address underlying mental health issues.
ReDiscover offers several programs for adults who are involved in the criminal justice system as well.
Our at risk youth can present safety concerns for our community, as well as to themselves and their loved ones. We can help them change their path and offer resources that show them their other options.
